Cob Barn – Stone Barn
The buildings at Dunsdon Farm centre round a traditional farm courtyard, and are in the main constructed of stone, along with a traditional lime washed Cob Barn (which is probably an early farmhouse), probably of late medieval construction with slate roof.

The buildings at Dunsdon Farm, include cart shed, pig sty’s (now offices), stables and The Old Shippon (our converted stone barn luxury holiday cottage), In addition there is a small covered yard within the main farmyard (now home to our two resident donkeys).

About The Old Shippon
The Old Shippon is a traditional Devon stone barn holiday cottage, Restored in 2011 to a very high standard, the cottage features solid oak staircase, doors and skirting and has been decorated with a contemporary feel, yet still retaining the charm of its historic agricultural past.

Sadly now lost, but previously attached to the Old Shippon was a Devon Roundhouse, we had every intention of repairing this building and incorporating it into the Old Shippon, but the years of neglect beat us. So much of this beautiful building had decayed that it would have been a complete re-build and thus not original and honest to the project.

Restoration & Repair Philosophy
All of the traditional buildings have now been fully restored, using materials and techniques in keeping with their architectural and historic importance.
